Gameplay[edit]
Wargame's playable factions are the Warsaw Pact, which is subdivided into the Soviet Union, Communist Poland, East Germany, and Czechoslovakia; and NATO, which is subdivided into the United States of America, United Kingdom, France, West Germany, Canada, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Players can choose various units from the subfactions of the side they are playing on, unlocking new units or improved variants as they progress. Each country has its own arsenal of units, reflecting their military doctrine. It is possible to create a 'deck' or battlegroup focusing on various criteria, with the option to mix units from multiple nations' armories.
Campaigns[edit]
Wargame: Airland Battle includes four campaigns that can be played alone or cooperatively with another player. The turn-based portions of all four campaigns take place on the same map depicting Northern Europe.
Multiplayer[edit]
Wargame: AirLand Battle is a primarily multiplayer game. There are several game modes to play.
The majority of multiplayer games are skirmish battles, where players fight against other players and/or AI generated opponents with custom built decks. These battles vary in size, location, and style, adding to generally unique experience for each game.

The old spam tactics from Airland battle are completely gone now due to the many new changes to the units, the mechanics, and the balance.
The game is even more tactical and the large maps add a whole new strategic dimension to the game.
The new factions are all unique in their own way and add alot of character to the game.
The best strategy game without any doubt since both multiplayer and single player are now extremely fun and provide many many hours of gameplay.

For me this is not even a contest, still I am interested in other opinions if they exist. I could be biased after all.. The old spam tactics from Airland battle are completely gone now due to the many new changes to the units, the mechanics, and the balance.

What coalition (including US/USSR) has the best infantry line-up?
In my opinion, it is the NSWP. The sheer wealth of excellent infantry units provides an answer to every problem. There are top-SF troops (LStR-40, Kommandosi), very cost effective shock troops (Mot.-Schützen 90), many airmobile shock troops, excellent support troops (Konkurs-M, Grom), a variety of unique specialist units (grenade launcher, 10-men shock-flamethrower, shock-RR), and situational but effective exotics (Lekha Pechota, Wachregiment).
Furthermore the recon infantry leaves nothing to be desired with everything covered; cheap 5-men squad, 2-men sniper team, two 10-men recon elites (one to deal with infantry, one with a more general task).
Combined, the NSWP's infantry forces are truely terrifying, although the individual nations are less than impressive on their own. In my opinion this synergy effect is the beauty of the concept of having coalitions.
The only unit the NSWP lacks is some kind of SF-napalm launcher squad, but other than that I cannot see a weakness. Therefore I cannot think of any better line-up.

When it comes to infantry, it seems to me that everybody agree that units like Motostrelki, Light Riflemen, Navy Seals or Morskaya Pehota sucks. And everybody seems to agree on the opposite when it comes to Li Jian '90, FSK and Motorschützen. It seems that everybody agrees that USSR and USA infantry sux.
Myself, I have no idea which infantry is good or not. I know about the differences in training (regular/shock/elite), but not much more.
What parametres decides if an infantry squad is good or not?
Maybe should post in /wargamebootcamp ?
